Forbes has a rich colourful history, with charming heritage buildings - many set around Victoria Square. The legendary bushranger Ben Hall is buried in the Forbes General Cemetery. Lake Forbes which is located on the edge of the Newell Highway is a great picnic spot, which is used by locals and travellers. There is a walking track around the shores of the lake which is also very popular.
